Chelation Thearpy

Chelation therapy is an intravenous medical treatment performed in the clinic that proponents claim improves metabolic function and blood flow through blocked arteries throughout the body. One chelating agent used is the amino acid, ethylene-diamine-tetra-acetic acid (EDTA), administered via an intravenous infusion using a small 25-gauge needle in the arm or hand. EDTA chelation therapy makes good sense to chemists and some medical researchers as it has a rational scientific basis. In a nutshell: Metallic ions like iron, copper, mercury or lead play an important role in the formation of atherosclerotic plaque. EDTA removes these ions with relative safety and without surgery.

Published research and extensive clinical experience exists that suggest EDTA helps to reduce and prevent atherosclerotic plaque, thus improving blood flow to the heart and other organs.
